Career
In 1978, Nilekani embarked on his professional journey at Patni Computer Systems in Mumbai, where he had the opportunity to meet and be interviewed by N.R. Narayana Murthy. Inspired by their shared vision, Nilekani, along with Murthy and five other colleagues from Patni, decided to leave the company in 1981 and establish Infosys.
Before assuming the role of CEO in 2002, Nilekani held various significant positions at Infosys, including managing director, chief operating officer, and president.
