The family later moved to Hyderabad and he attended his primary education at the Hyderabad Public School and his secondary education at Little Flower Junior College.
He graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan, after finishing one year of Mechanical Engineering studies at the College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University in Madras. The former Indian cricketer Krishnamachari Srikanth was his college friend during his Engineering days.

He was born on 29 August 1959. His parents are Telugu actor Akkineni Nageswara and his wife Annapurna Akkineni. Nag was educated at Hyderabad Public School and completed his secondary schooling at Ratna Junior College.
Then, he obtained an engineering degree in mechanical technology through the College of Engineering, Guindy (Chennai). Nagarjuna’s academic records were further improved by obtaining a Master’s degree from the Department of Automobile Engineering at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette.

Personal Life
Nagarjuna tied his wedding ring twice. The couple is currently married to Amala an actress of repute in the Tamil as well as Telugu movie industry. There are two children: Naga and Chaitanya from his first marriage. Through his second marriage, he has a son named Akhil Akkineni who was in the movie Sindri.
Career
He appeared in 1989 as a part-time actor as a romantic actor in Geetanjali which was written by Mani Ratnam. The film was awarded the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. In the next year, he starred in Siva, an action blockbuster produced by Ram Gopal Varma that premiered at the 13th International Film Festival of India. The actor made his Bollywood debut in the year 1990 with his Hindi adaptation of Shiva.
