She was born on the 20th of March 1996 in Kolkata to a Gujarati family. The name of her father is Dharmendra Shankar, and her mother’s name is Shubha. Her mother was an Indian classical music performer. There is a younger brother called Samir.
She began singing with Akashvani (All India Radio) Calcutta at the age of six in the year 1972. Her mother took her tickets to Mumbai to sing as a child when she was 10. In the beginning, she was advised to keep her voice until it developed.
