Early age

Contesting as a Congress candidate in the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, Revanth vied for the Kodangal seat but faced defeat against TRS candidate Patnam Narender Reddy, marking his first electoral setback. Subsequently, he emerged as the Member of Parliament (MP)

In the 17th Lok Sabha, representing the Malkajgiri constituency on behalf of the Indian National Congress. Before this, Revanth had a political journey as a two-time Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), initially representing the Kodangal constituency for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly from 2009 to 2014 and later in the Telangana Assembly from 2014 to 2018. Following his departure from TDP, he joined the Indian National Congress after a few months. Presently, he holds the position of one of the three working presidents of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee.

Revanth’s father is named Anumula Narasimha Reddy, and his mother is Anumula Ramachandramma. He has a sibling named Enumula Krishna Reddy.

Education

From his school days, Anumula Revanth Reddy displayed an early interest in politics and served as a leader in the student union. He pursued his higher education and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from A. V. College, Osmania University.

Career

Revanth Reddy was affiliated with ABVP during his student days. In 2006, he secured victory in local body elections, becoming a ZPTC member as an independent candidate from Midjil Mandal. The following year, in 2007, Revanth Reddy was elected as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) as an independent candidate. Later on, he joined the TDP after meeting with TDP chief NCBN (N. Chandrababu Naidu).
