He was born on September 10, 1972. He was born in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh state. It is his dad’s name Sri Prakash Singh he is a retired Chief Engineer of the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited. His father was employed at Obra Thermal Power Station which is situated in the Sonbhadra district close to Varanasi. His early education was at the Green School Dehradun and then was transferred to Scindia School in Gwalior.

He completed his schooling at Green School in Dehradun and Scindia School in Gwalior. Anurag Kashyap has graduated from Hansraj College, University of Delhi. Then he joined the theatre. He was a part of the street theater organization Jan Natya Manch while studying at Hansraj College.

Anurag Kashyap married the film editor Aarti Bajaj, and they also have a daughter. Anurag then got married to actress Kalki Koechlin and was divorced in May 2015 before the Bandra Family court in Mumbai. In May 2015, they divorced in the Bandra family court in Mumbai. Career
The year 1995 was the first time he ran into someone named Pankaj Titoria through chance. Pankaj Titoria introduced him to the director and editor Shivam Nair. At Shivam’s house, Kashyap watched ‘Taxi Driver and fell in love with the film. He had written the screenplay for the debut film by Hansal Mehta’s initial movie, “Jayate,” which was not released in theaters. The actor Manoj Bajpayee suggested his name to director Ram Gopal Verma to write the script for a film.
Ram Gopal Verma hired him after being impressed by Auto Narayan’s work. On that day he was the writer for ‘Satya’ alongside Saurabh Shukla. Satya was a huge success and it’s considered one of the most acclaimed films in the history of Indian Cinema. He wrote the script for ‘Kaun’ in 1999. wrote the script for “Kaun,” and also the dialogues for the film ‘School. In the same year, he also made an animated short film titled called ‘Last Train to Mahakali’ for Television.
