Ashok Gehlot, son of Babu Laxman Singh Gehlot, was born on May 3rd, 1951 in the Saini Kshatriyas Rajput family from Mandore, Mahamandir, Jodhpur, Rajasthan. He is a Science as well as a Law degree holder, he has an MA diploma in Economics.
His wife is Sunita Gehlot. They have one son and one daughter. He is a Hindu and is a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) party. The influenced by the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi from a very young age and was involved in social work even while a student.
