Chris Hemsworth was born on August 11, 1983, in Melbourne, Australia to Craig Hemsworth and Leonie (nee van Os) as their third child in a family of three sons. He is of English, Irish, Scottish, and German roots.

The father of the family is a social services counselor and the mother of his is an English teacher. His parents raised the two brothers and him at home in Melbourne in the remote inner region of Australia known as the Outback located in the Northern Territory.

Personal Life

In early 2010, he began dating Spanish actor Elsa Pataky and they married in December of that year during the Christmas holiday. The couple has three children: A daughter named India Rose, who was born on May 11, 2012, and Sasha and Tristan twins who were born on March 18, 2014.

Career

After graduation, he began playing small roles in TV series, such as playing King Arthur in the Canadian/Australian fantasy “Guinevere Jones” (2002) and in the role of Jamie Kane in the Australian series “Neighbours'” (2002) and as “The New Vet” in The Saddle Club’ (2003) among others.

He was a candidate for the role in the role of Robbie Hunter in the 2004 Australian television drama series “Home and Away” which was ultimately won by the actor Jason Smith. He was then rehired to play the part of Kim Hyde which made him move to Sydney.
