Mahua Moitra is an Indian politician and Member of the parliament for the 17th Lok Sabha from Krishnanagar, West Bengal. She ran for the seat in the 2019 Indian general elections by running as the All India Trinamool Congress party candidate.

Moitra was one of Karimpur’s members in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly representing Karimpur from 2016 until the year 2019. She has also been General Secretary and the national spokesperson for the AITC over the past several years. She worked as an investment banker before becoming a politician.

Then she joined the Indian Youth Congress, the youth section of the Indian National Congress party where she was among the trusted advisors of Rahul Gandhi on the project “Aam Aadmi Ki Sipahi”.She was elected in 2010 and shifted into the All India Trinamool Congress party.

They elected her from Karimpur district in Nadia district in West Bengal in the Legislative Assembly elections in 2016. She was elected as a member of parliament in the 17th Lok Sabha from Krishnanagar, West Bengal. On the 13th of November, 2021 she names the TMC party’s Goa coordinator to prepare the party for the 2022 Goa Legislative Assembly election.
