On July 23, 1973, Monica Samille Lewinsky was born in San Francisco, California, USA. Her parents were Bernard Lewinsky, a respected and prosperous photographer, and doctor, and Marcia Kaye Vilensky. Monica’s early education was at the Sinai Akiba Academy in Los Angeles, which was a religious institution that provided instruction in Judaism.

Her family actively participated in the Sinai Temple, a conservative Jewish temple located in Los Angeles, California. She began her primary education at the John Thomas Dye School in Bel-Air and subsequently completed her senior year at Beverly Hills High School.
