On January 27, 2023, in the wake of the announcement of Nara Lokesh’s padayatra Yuvagalam, Taraka Ratna suffered cardiac arrest in Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh. He was immediately transported to the local hospital in Kuppam to be resuscitated. In the course of 45 minutes, he had the sensation of having a pulse.
