Nayanthara is an Indian actress who primarily works in Tamil and Telugu-language films. Her real name is  Diana Mariam Kuriyan and Nayanthara was born on 18 November 1984. She is one of the most successful leading actresses of the south and is widely referred to as the Lady Superstar and Thalaivi of Tamil cinema.

Early Life

She was born and brought up in Bangalore, Karnataka, where she attained her school education at Balikamadom Girls Higher Secondary School. After completing the 12th standard, she went on to pursue her bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Marthoma College, Thiruvalla, Kerala. While studying at college, She worked part-time as a model.

During a modeling assignment, the Malayalam film director Sathyan Anthikkad spotted her and approached her to play a lead role in his film Manassinakkare(2003). She accepted the offer and the film Manassinakkare went on to become a high commercial success.

Nayanthara completed her graduation at Marthoma College, Tiruvalla, Mahatma Gandhi University. On 7th August 2011, Diana, a Jacobite Christian, converted to Hinduism at the Arya Samaj Mandir in Chennai and her screen-named is now her formal official name.

Family

She was born of a Malayali Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Christian origin and follows Christianity to the core. Nayanthara’s family is a nuclear family. Her father’s name is Kurian Kodiyattu, he works for Indian Air Force her mother’s name is Omana Kurian. Nayanthara has an elder brother called Leno, who lives in Dubai, where she often visits.
