Plot

Vijay Gurumoorthy, portrayed by Vijay Antony, is depicted as one of the top 10 richest individuals in India. However, he falls victim to the treachery of his subordinates who conspire to control him by transplanting the brain of an innocent and impoverished man named Sathya (also played by Vijay Antony) into his body. Little does Vijay know that Sathya has spent his entire life searching for his long-lost sister.

Having endured a troubled past that included serving time as a juvenile prisoner, Sathya is determined to avenge the man responsible for his sister’s separation. Despite being unwillingly thrust into the life of Vijay Gurumoorthy, Sathya is determined to expose the truth, locate his missing sister, and finally find solace for the remainder of his days.

Production

Development

Following the triumph of Pichaikkaran, Vijay Antony expressed his intention to create a sequel to the film in 2020. Initially, he approached director Sasi to helm the sequel, but due to prior obligations, Sasi was unable to take on the project. Consequently, Vijay Antony embarked on a search for a suitable director and ultimately selected Priya Krishnaswamy, known for her previous work on the film Baaram.

Filming

On September 1, 2021, the shooting for the film commenced, taking place in various locations such as Chennai, Malaysia, Kolkata, Georgia, and Dubai. However, on December 13, 2022, three technicians from the film were arrested for unauthorized drone camera usage above the Chennai High Court. They had not obtained permission from the authorities. Later, on January 16, 2023, the film crew disclosed that during the filming of the final sequence of a song, an unexpected incident occurred.

Music

The music of the film was composed by Vijay Antony, making his return as a music composer after Thimiru Pudichavan.

Release

Theatrical

Initially, the film crew had made an announcement stating that the film, along with dubbed versions in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, would be released on April 14, 2023. However, due to an allegation of copyright violation, the release was postponed. Eventually, the film was released on May 19, 2023.
