Raju Srivastava is an acclaimed actor, comedian, and politician best well-known for his role in the stand-up comedy show of Star One, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. He enjoyed performing mimicry from a young age and this is the reason for his desire to become a comedian right from the beginning.

Born on the 25th of December 1963. He was from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. His real name was Satya Prakash Srivastava however everyone refers to him as Raju Bhaiya and Gajodhar Bhaiya. After finishing his studies in Kanpur He moved to Mumbai to become a comedian.

Early Life

Raju Shrivastava was born in Kanpur and raised in Kanpur in the name of Satya Prakash Srivastava on the 25th of December 1963, to an upper-middle-class family. He was the son of Ramesh Chandra Shrivastava an accomplished poet from the region and was well-known under the pseudonym, Balai Kaka.

Coming from a tradition-based Uttar Pradesh cultural background, Raju was a talented artist in him, as he was a master of mimicry. He first began by imitating his teachers at school and amusing his friends.

Personal Life

Raju Shrivastav’s love story is one of the most filmed stories when it comes to comedians. He met his spouse, Shikha at his elder brother’s wedding. Raju Srivastav was in love at first sight. He began to investigate and discovered that Shikha was his sister-in-law’s cousin.

Raju Srivastav would find ways to go to Shikha’s home in Etawah. He was never able to confess his feelings for her. He left for Mumbai to set out on a path to start a new profession in Comedy.

Career

Raju Shrivastava joined the Samajwadi Party in 2014 as it was his choice to represent the political circle at the Lok Sabha Elections from Kanpur. However, he was unable to get enough support from local units.

He decided to join his fellow members of the Bhartiya Janta Party and supported them all the way through. Later, he was one of the principal figures in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and was focused on the preservation of cleanliness and hygiene in the locality. He also lobbied and promoted for the same purpose as the Abhiyan.
