Rick Ross is an American rapper born in Clarksdale, Mississippi, and born in Carol City, Florida. Most well-known for his songs Maybach Music and Hustlin’, Ross also founded the record label Maybach Music Group in 2009 with whom he released an album series.
Rick Ross was born, on January 28, 1976, to William Leonard Roberts II. Ross was raised “across the bridge,” in Miami which was in conflict with the glamorous yachts and nightclubs located in South Beach. Following the race riots of 1980, Ross entered the world in the midst of the crack epidemic in the city. While he was there, he developed his talents as a musician and fought setback after setback until a single song known as “Hustlin'” changed his life for the better.
Childhood & Early Life
Ross was born in Mississippi and was raised in the affluent regions of north Miami. Ross was a fan of street music from the time he was young and would listen to the music of artists such as Notorious B.I.G., Luther Campbell, and many more.
He was accepted into Georgia’s Albany State University through a football scholarship. However, after one year, he stopped being interested in school and began making lyrics for rap and earning cash from the sale of drugs.

Rick Ross has completed his high school education through Miami Carol City Senior High School. In the following years, due to an athletic scholarship, he was admitted to Albany State University. The school is known as a historically black institution. The career of his singer began in 2000, and it is running smoothly.
Personal Life
After having graduated from high school, Ross attended Albany State University on a football scholarship. He then went on to work in the field of corrections, from 1995 until 1997.
Career
Ross began his career as a name Teflon Da Don on Suave House Records and later changed his name to Rick Ross in the mid-2000s. Ross later signed with Slip-n-Slide Records and released his debut album Port of Miami in 2006. The album reached the top of the U.S. Billboard 200 Album chart in the first week, and the sales reached 187,000 units.
A few years after that, Ross’s next album landed at the top of the Billboard 200 too. It was called Trilla The album featured several popular artists like R. Kelly T-Pain, R. Kelly, and Nelly. A track from his album sparked particular interest, namely ‘Valley of death’. It’s a track in which Ross states that he has been homeless while serving as an inmate, raising questions as to why he originally told lies about the matter. Rick Ross’ next three albums also proved to be equally successful.
