Early Life

Sanjay Dutt was born in Bombay City, Bombay State, Republic of India, to parents who were well-known actors in Hindi cinema, Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt. His father was a Punjabi Hindu Mohyal Brahmin, while his mother was a Punjabi Muslim. Dutt’s family ancestry can be traced back to the Rawalpindi Division of West Punjab.

Sanjay Dutt received his education at the Lawrence School, which is located near Kasauli in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

Personal Life

During the early 1980s, Sanjay Dutt had a romantic relationship with his co-star from his debut film, Tina Munim. After their breakup, Dutt went on to marry actress Richa Sharma in 1987. Unfortunately, she passed away in 1996 due to a brain tumor. The couple had a daughter together named Trishala Dutt, who was born in 1988. Trishala currently resides in the United States with her maternal grandparents.

Film Career

Sanjay Dutt started his acting career as a child artist in the film Reshma and Shera in 1979 when he was just 12 years old. He made his debut as a leading actor in the 1981 film Rocky, which was directed by his father Sunil Dutt. Both of Sanjay’s parents were eagerly anticipating the movie’s release, but unfortunately, his mother Nargis passed away due to cancer before the premiere.

The news of his mother’s death was a tremendous shock for Sanjay Dutt, and it’s been reported that he turned to drugs as a means of coping with the loss. In addition, he gained notoriety for his erratic behavior during this period. To help his son overcome his addiction, Sanjay’s father, Sunil Dutt, sent him to a de-addiction facility in the United States.
