Sheikh Hasina Sheikh Hasina, who is the prime minister of Bangladesh, the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, took office on the 12th of January, 2014 to be the 3rd time, following her party Awami League, a grand alliance led by the League, was elected the elections to the Parliament.
She took over the post of Prime Minister for the second time on the 23rd of June 1996 when her political party Bangladesh Awami League emerged as the main party in the election to Parliament on June 12, 1996.
Family
She was born on the 28th of September 1947 to members of the Bengali Muslim Sheikh Family of Tungipara in East Bengal. The father was Mujibur Rahman, who is called the founder father of Bangladesh and was the first president of the nation. She is of Iraqi Arab ancestry through her paternal grandfather.
Early Life
Numerous interviews have stated she was raised in fear due to her father’s political involvement. Hasina was married to M.A. Wazed Miah in 1968. He died in 2009. At the height of the violence in the year 1970 Pakistani General election, as her father’s detention, She resided in the home of her maternal grandmother. She married M.A. Wazed Miah in 1968. The man was a Bangladesh scientist and writer. He also served as the chairman of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission. She has a son, Sajeeb Wazed as well as a daughter Saima Wazed.
Education
Began her studies in her hometown of Tungipara. She finished her degree at “Azimpur Girls College”. Following this, she completed her additional studies at “Eden Women’s College” and received an education. has also completed her studies at “Dhaka University”. She was extremely smart in her study. She always got high marks.
Political Career
Prime Minister of Bangladesh (1996-2001)
She began her term in the office of Prime Minister for Bangladesh from 1996 until 2001. She also became the very first Premier of Bangladesh since Independence to serve a full five-year term. During this time she also signed a 30-year water-sharing agreement together with India’s Government of India governing the Ganges.
