Tiger Zinda Hai, which translates to “Tiger Is Alive,” is a 2017 Indian Hindi-language spy action-thriller film. It was written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, based on a story by Zafar and Neelesh Misra. The movie was produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films. Serving as a sequel to Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Tiger Zinda Hai is the second installment in the YRF Spy Universe.

Tiger Zinda Hai features a stellar cast including Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, who reprise their roles from the previous film. They are joined by talented actors such as Sajjad Delafrooz, Angad Bedi, Kumud Mishra, Nawab Shah, Ivan Rodrigues, Girish Karnad, and Paresh Rawal.
In the film, Avinash “Tiger” Singh Rathore (played by Salman Khan) and Zoya Humaini-Rathore (played by Katrina Kaif) find themselves compelled to emerge from hiding to rescue hostages being held by a militant terrorist organization in Iraq.
Plot
In Iraq, a harrowing incident takes place as an American journalist is tragically killed by the ISC, a notorious terrorist organization. The journalist had been attempting to provide vital information about the ISC’s recent activities to the CIA. Meanwhile, during a rally held in Ikrit, the leader of ISC, Abu Usman, is targeted and shot by the Iraqi Army.
In response to the heightened security measures taken by Abu Usman, the leader of ISC, the CIA decides to plan an airstrike on the hospital where he is being treated. Unbeknownst to them, Maria, an Indian nurse working at the hospital, courageously makes a secret phone call to the Indian Ambassador to Iraq. She informs him about the grave situation.

Box office
Tiger Zinda Hai made a remarkable impact at the Indian box office, setting a new non-holiday record with its impressive collections. On its opening day, the film collected ₹34.1 crore net, showcasing its strong box office performance right from the start. The success continued as it garnered ₹35.30 crore net gross on the second day.
