Vanitha Vijayakumar married Akash, an actor on television on the 10th of September, 2000. After a long child custody battle, the Madras High Court ordered that Vijay Sri Hari split their time with their parents. Vijay Sri Hari later moved into a permanent residence with his grandfather. He then moved in with Akash.
