Varalaxmi is an Indian actress, born March 5, 1985, in Tamil films and Malayalam. Her debut was with the Tamil film Podaa Podi (2012). It featured her as a London-based dancer. Varalaxmi is the daughter of actresses Sarathkumar and Chaya. Her stepmother is Raadhika. She is the oldest of four children. She has a younger sister Pooja and a younger half-brother Rahul. Rayanne Hardy is her half-sister.

Varalaxmi has a degree from Hindustan Arts and Science College, Chennai. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Edinburgh University. Before becoming an actress, she trained at Anupam Kher in Mumbai acting school.

Early Life

Varalaxmi was the daughter of actor Sarathkumar and actress Chaya on 5th March 1985. Raadhika is her stepmother. Varalaxmi attended St. Michael’s Academy in Chennai for her schooling. She graduated in Microbiology at Hindustan Arts and Science College, Chennai, and has a Master’s degree in Business Management from The University of Edinburgh. Before becoming a professional actress, she trained at Anupam Kher’s Acting School in Mumbai.

Family

Varlaxmi was born to R.Sarathkumar and Chaya Devi, Varalaxmi’s biological mother. Varalaxmi was the oldest child of her parents. In 1987, her sister Pooja Sarathkumar was also born. Varalaxmi’s father R.Sarathkumar divorced her mother Chhaya Devi when she was just 15 years old.

Their Divorce was mainly caused by R.Sarathkumar’s relationship with Nagma. Varalaxmi and Nagma finally split in 2000. Varalaxmi’s father, Raadhika Sarathkumar, was then with actress Raadhika Sarathkumar. They were married on 4 February 2001.

Education

Varalaxmi finished her education at St. Michael’s Academy, Chennai. She achieved her educational goals. She applied soon to the Hindustan College of Arts and Science, Chennai to start her undergraduate studies. Varalaxmi received a B.Sc. She graduated with a B.Sc. in Microbiology at that university. She then went on to The University of Edinburgh in Edinburgh Scotland where she received a Master of Science degree in Business Management.

Career

Varalaxmi, who was just 18 years old, was offered the opportunity of a lifetime to star in Shankar’s Boys. However, her father advised her to decline the offer and wait until she finished her education before she entered the entertainment industry. Varalaxmi was trained in acting and made her screen debut with the movie Podaa Podi (2012). Her character was a London-based dancer.

Her debut performance in her first movie was well-received. Because it was so well-received in so many movies, she starred with Mammootty in Kasaba, a 2016 Malayalam movie. She has made a commitment to appear in many films by 2022, many of them as an actress. However, her performance in Chasing earned her admiration from her entire fan base in 2021.
