Wahab Riaz (born 28 June 1985) is a Pakistani cricketer. He is a left-handed fast-bowler and a right-handed batsman. He regularly bowls at speeds around 90mph (144.8 kilometers/hour) and has surpassed speeds of 96 miles an hour (154 km/h). The all-around performance he showed during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 brought him international recognition.

As of August, Riaz was one of 33 players given central contracts during the 2017-19 cricket season from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). In September 2019, Riaz announced that he was going off red-ball cricket and concentrating on smaller formats in the sport. Early Life

He was born on June 28, 1985, into a Punjabi Gujjar household married to Muhammad Sikandar Riaz Kasana, who was a businessman. He studied at the famous Aitchison College, Lahore. Riaz has a wife named Zainab Chaudhary and one daughter.

Education

Wahab Riaz is among the cricketers who are an undergraduate. He was a student at Atchison College. Then he attended Islamia College Lahore, where he obtained a BS in Biotechnology and an MS with a focus on Biotechnology.

Cricket Career

He was selected as Pakistan’s T20I team for the tri-series against Bangladesh which also included India. In the first game against Bangladesh, the team scored three wickets and 22 runs over seven overs. In the following match against India, He was able to take two wickets, while conceding 85 runs.

Domestic Career

He began his playing career in 2000 after his name was chosen for his 17th Asia cup. He was also part of the Pakistani under-19 team.
