Y S Sharmila, an Indian politician, holds the position of founder and president within the YSR Telangana Party. She is the sibling of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and the daughter of Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Y. S. Vijayamma. Previously, she served as the party convener for the YSR Congress Party.

Y S Sharmila was born on December 17, 1973, in Hyderabad, She is a former Indian politician and the founder of the YSR Telangana Party. In a remarkable feat, Sharmila embarked on a 3,000 km (1,900 mi) trek through the state of Telangana. The journey began on October 18, 2012, at Idupulapaya in Cuddapah district and concluded on August 4, 2013, at Ichhapuram. During this trek, she visited 14 districts as part of her campaign.

Family

Sharmila Reddy is a member of the Christian community. Her father, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, transitioned from being a businessman to a politician and served as the fourteenth Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the Indian National Congress (INC) from 2004 to 2009. Her mother, Y. S. Vijayamma, is also a politician and a former MLA for the Pulivendula constituency of Andhra Pradesh. Sharmila’s brother.

Sharmila married M Anil Kumar in 1995, and it was a love marriage for both of them. Interestingly, it was the second marriage for both Sharmila and Anil. Early Life

Political Career

Sharmila gained attention when she actively campaigned for the YSRCP alongside her mother in Andhra Pradesh in the absence of her brother from June 2021. However, in February 2021, she expressed political differences with her brother and criticized the party’s presence in Telangana. Sharmila declared her intention to establish a new political party in Telangana and began campaigning against the TRS Government.

Finally, on July 8th, 2021, she officially announced the formation of the YSR Telangana Party. Notably, Sharmila’s notable achievement includes her Walkathon, a 3,000km journey that commenced on October 18, 2012, at Idupulapaya in Kadapa District and concluded on August 4, 2013, in Ichchapuram.
