Initially scheduled for release on 21st April 2023, the film faced a delay and finally hit theaters on 5th May 2023. It quickly gained immense popularity and success, grossing a staggering 100 crores within just 11 days of its release.

Plot

Noora, a television journalist, covers a story on the water scarcity issue in Pondicherry. While driving, her car is involved in a collision with a truck driven by Sethupathi, who was transporting explosives to Kerala. Anoop, a former military personnel, works as an assistant at Bhasi’s store, a visually impaired individual. Manju, previously employed in Delhi, joins a local school as a teacher.

Meanwhile, two fishermen named Mathachan and his son Winston find themselves trapped at sea during a thunderstorm. After an arduous struggle, they eventually make it safely to the shore. Rameshan, an IT specialist based in Abu Dhabi, faces difficulties in his relationship with his ailing wife, Anupama. Despite this, he decides to prioritize her well-being over his work commitments. The movie was formally announced in September 2018 under the title “2403 Ft.: The Story Of Unexpected Heroes,” but the title was subsequently changed to its current name.

Filming

Principal photography for the film commenced on May 27, 2022. The shooting locations encompass various areas within Thrissur, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Idukki, and Kollam districts. Additionally, Thirunelveli and Hyderabad served as significant filming locations outside of Kerala.

Gopika from The Times of India awarded the film a rating of 4 out of 5 stars and praised the quality of the writing, highlighting the commendable work of Akhil P Dharmajan and Jude. The cinematography by Akhil George was also given special mention. Additionally, Chaman Chacko’s editing and the high-quality visual effects were recognized, making the movie a worthwhile watch.
