Tracy Jamal Morgan, born November 10, 1968, is an American comedian, actor, producer, author, and stand-up comedian. Morgan is most well-known for his television work, especially his stint as a Saturday Night Live cast member from 1996 to 2003. He also played Tracy Jordan on the NBC sitcom 30 Rock, which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. Morgan also played Tray Barker on the TBS comedy The Last O.G.

Family

They have three children together. Morgan filed for divorce in August 2009 after being separated for eight years. He attributes his recovery from alcoholism to one of his sons. Morgan stated that he was estranged with his mother and the majority of his family in 2009 and that he doesn’t think this will change.

Early Life

Morgan was born in Brooklyn on November 10, 1968. He was raised in Brooklyn’s Marlboro Houses, and Tompkins Houses. He is the second child of five children, Alicia Warden (nee Warden) and Jimmy Morgan (a musician). Morgan left his family at six years old. Tracy was his father’s name in honor of a platoon friend and platoon mate who went to Vietnam with him. He was killed in action just days later.

Tracy Morgan graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School. He later earned a diploma, but the name of the institution is unknown. To be able to support his family financially, he left his Diploma.
