Boney Kapoor, a Bollywood Film producer aged 68 (born 11 November 1955). Born as Achal Kapoor, he was the son of a Punjabi family, who immigrated from Pakistan to India. When they arrived in Mumbai, his family stayed at Raj Kapoor’s car garage. His family lived in Mumbai’s ‘chawl area during those difficult times.

His father was a well-known film producer and he passed on his production skills to him. Although his brothers, Sanjay and Anil Kapoor, became actors, he continued his father’s legacy by becoming a producer.

Family

Boney Kapoor is from a Punjabi Khatri family with roots in Pakistan. Late Surinder Kapoor was his father and Nirmal Kapoor his mother were both producers. Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor are his younger brothers. Reena Kapoor is his younger sister.

In 1983, he married Mona Kapoor, a TV producer. All went well until Sridevi began staying at Boney’s house. She used to consider Boney her brother. However, destiny had other plans. As time went by Boney and Sridevi became closer, and she fell pregnant with Boney’s child.

Mona was shocked and her marriage fell apart. After leaving Mona, his first wife, and their children, Arjun, and Anshula, Boney married Sridevi in 1996. Janhvi Kapoor was born to the couple and Khushi Kapoor was born to them. Sridevi, who suffered a severe cardiac arrest in Dubai on February 24, 2018, ended Sridevi’s married life.

Early Life

Kapoor was born in 1955 as Achal Surinder Kapoor, the son of Surinder Kapoor, a Bollywood film producer, and Nirmal Kapoor. Both his younger brothers, Anil and Sanjay, are producers and actors.

Personal Life

Kapoor married Mona Shourie in 1983 and 1996. They had two children together, Anshula (born 1990) and Arjun Kapoor (born 1995). Arjun made his acting debut with the 2012 film Ishaqzaade, while Anshula graduated from Barnard College. Kapoor wed Indian actress Sridevi in June 1996.

Janhvi Kapoor, born on 6 March 1997, and Khushi Kapoor (5 November 2000), were the couple’s two daughters. Sridevi, who drowned in her hotel bathtub on February 24, 2018, died in Dubai. Surinder was also a cousin of Prithviraj Kapoor’s Kapoor family.

Career

Boney Kapoor wanted to be a producer just like his father. He started his career in the 1970s as an assistant director. He was then assigned to Shakti Samanta’s assistant director position. His first movie, “Hum Paanch”, was a huge success at the box office. His production career began with the movie Mr. India, starring his brother Anil Kapoor as well as his wife Sridevi Kapoor.

It became a classic film and set many box office records. The movie’s many parts were loved by both critics and the public, whether it was Sridevi’s “Hawa Hawaii”, Amrish Puri’s “Mogambo Khush Hua”, or the idea of an invisible man. He has not looked back since then and had many hits at the box office, including Mr. India and Judaai, Pukar and Wanted, and No Entry, among others.
