Early Life

Ahmed is the youngest of eight brothers (five siblings and five brothers). Ahmed is from Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan but is an ethnic Pashtun. His family relocated from Karachi from Shinkiari the village of Shinkiari, which is situated on the outskirts of Mansehra located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A graduate of the Rashid Latif Academy, he made his Twenty20 debut with Karachi Kings on 10 February 2017 in the 2017 Pakistan Super League. He made his debut in the first class on the 20th of November, 2020 for Sindh during the 2021 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

In the month of October 2021, he was selected as a member of the Pakistan Shaheens squad for their tour to Sri Lanka. The player made the List A debut on 11 November 2021 for the Pakistan Shaheens against the Sri Lanka A cricket team.

International Career

Ahmed began his first Test in the national team of Pakistan in the second Test in the series, against England. Ahmed became the very first Pakistani bowler to record 5 wickets in the first innings of their Test debut, scoring 7 for 114 in the opening innings and fourth for 120 at the end of the 2nd.

He was also the 13th Pakistani bowler to score five wickets on his Test debut. He was later named as part of the Pakistan team to play in the test series of this match in series against New Zealand, and in the opening innings of the test, the bowler picked up another five-wicket haul.
