Early and Personal Life

Aditi was born to Aditi and her parents divorced when she was just two years old. She has no siblings. Her father stayed in Hyderabad while her mother moved to New Delhi with Aditi. This led to bitter legal battles for custody and visitation rights. Aditi, a small child, was brought before the court by her mother to inform the judge that she didn’t want to spend any of her school vacations with him.

Aditi’s mother has never married again, but Aditi had a successful social life and career. Aditi was able to go to boarding school after custody issues were resolved and Aditi was deemed old enough. This was Rishi Valley School in Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh. Aditi graduated later from Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi.

Aditi Rao Hydari, a Bharatanatyam-trained dancer, is Aditi Rao. Aditi began learning Bharatanatyam at the age of five from Leela Samson, a well-known dancer. She later joined Samson’s Spanda dance group where she taught dance to students and performed on various stages in India and abroad.

Aditi’s acting debut was in 2006 when she starred opposite Muhammad Kutty Ismail in the Malayalam movie Prajapathi. She made her Tamil debut in 2007 with the Tamil period drama film Sringaram. She made her Bollywood debut as a supporting actress in Delhi 6 in 2009.

Aditi made her debut singing in the film London Paris New York. She lent her voice to two songs, Thehree si Zindagi’, and Voh dekhnaye me. Aditi also sang a Tamil song, Kaathodu katanin with Dhanush. In Ice Age 4: Continental Drift, she sang the Hindi version of the Ice Age theme song “We Are Family”.
