Alyssa Jean, born on 24 March 1990, is an Australian cricketer. She plays for the Australian women’s national and New South Wales domestic cricket teams. In February 2010, she made her international debut. She is a right-handed batsman and wicketkeeper. Her father, Greg Healy (Queensland), was also part of the Queensland team.
While her uncle Ian Healy was Australia’s Test wicket-keeper and holds the world record for most Test dismissals, her mother, Emily, is a left-handed batter. Greg Healy and Ian’s brother Ken Healy also played cricket for Queensland. Healy was first noticed in 2006 when she became the first female to compete in the New South Wales private school competition.

Sandy Healy is Alyssa’s mother and Greg Healy, Alyssa’s father, was a former cricketer who played domestic cricket for the Queensland Bulls. Alyssa is the elder sister of Kareen Healy. At the age of 15, she died from cardiac arrest. Her family donated Kareen’s organs to assist other people.

Senior Domestic Debut
She made her senior debut in 2007-08 for the New South Wales Breakers, an Australian domestic one-day league. As Leonie Coleman was a wicketkeeper in the Australian team, she was used as a specialist bat in the top order. She made her debut against South Australia, scoring just 24 runs in her five innings.
International Debut
Healy was selected for the Australian Rose Bowl series against New Zealand in Feb 2010 after Jodie Fields, the incumbent wicketkeeper, sustained an injury. A statement was released by the selection committee stating that “Alyssa” has been recognized for higher honors over several years and will now have the opportunity to showcase her wicket-keeping skills as well as attacking batting on an international stage.
2010 World Twenty20
Healy was chosen for the 2010 World Twenty20 in the West Indies. She played in all matches after Fields was once again injured. Alyssa Healy took two wickets in the warm-up match and didn’t bat when Australia lost by 18 runs to New Zealand. She was not allowed to bat in the final warm-up match and didn’t make a dismissal when Australia defeated Pakistan by 82 runs.
