Personal Life
Amala got married to filmmaker A. L. Vijay on June 12, 2014, in Mayor Ramanathan Chettiar Hall in Chennai. However, the couple filed for divorce in 2017 because of a disagreement with her husband’s family to continue her acting career.
Career
Amala began her career in 2009 in the Malayalam film Neelathamara and was the lead of Beena in the film. She also was a part-time actress in the Tamil film Veerasekaran in the role of Sugandhi. The film praises her portrayal of Sundari in the film Sindhu Samaveli.
Amala also praises her role in the film Mynaa. In 2012 she made her debut in the Telugu industry through the film Bejawada. She was part of the Kannada film Hebbuli in 2017 for the first time.
Through the decades, Amala has worked in various Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu films. Her films include Vettai, Run Baby Run, Thalaivaa, Pasanga 2, Ratsasan. Amala was in the anthology films Kutty Story and Pitta Kathalu in 2021.
