Amy Jackson is a British model and actress in the film industry. She is also a model in the Indian movie industry. Her most famous work is her role in the Indian romantic-thriller Tamil film “I”. Growing up in Woolton, Liverpool, she was a typical tomboy young girl, and spent the majority of her youth playing games and riding horses. After graduating from school, she attended St Edward’s College to study English literature as well as philosophy and ethics at the A-level.

When she was sixteen she started modeling and eventually won the title of Miss Teen World in 2009. After being named Miss Liverpool she was noticed on the web by Indian film director A.L. Vijay on the Miss Teen World site. Her debut on film in the Tamil historical drama film ‘Madrasapattinam’ in the year 2010.

Amy Jackson was born on 31 January 1991 located in Douglas, Isle of Man in the Isle of Man, to Marguerita Jackson and Alan Jackson. She has an older sister called Alicia Jackson who is also an actor. After her birth, two years later the family relocated to their parents’ home located in Woolton, Liverpool, due to her father’s profession.

She comes from a middle-class Christian family. Her father is an executive producer at BBC Radio, Merseyside, and her mother is an equestrian trainer. She was a young girl in her youth and spent a lot of her time with her friends playing sports or riding on horses.

Family & Personal Life

Amy Jackson got engaged to Indian actor Prateik Babbar in 2012 and they split after a year. The year 2013 was when she started with professional boxer Joe Selkirk but ended the relationship after he attacked her physically at the Malmaison Hotel.

She is passionate about animals and has one cat named Alfie. She has appeared in PETA’s ad campaigns and has donated to numerous charities in India.

Career

Amy Jackson started her modeling career in 2009 at Boss Model Management, a Manchester-based modeling company, prior to changing to Models 1. She was awarded the Miss Teen World title in 2009 and was able to secure an agreement to model with Models 1 in the US. The year 2010 was the one when she was awarded the title of Miss Liverpool and finished second to the title of Miss England.

In the same year, she made her first appearance in an Indian film with a leading part in the historical Tamil film “Madrasapattinam”. In 2012 the actress made her Bollywood debut by playing an important part in the film ‘Ekk Deewana Tha’.

She received lots of praise. Then, in September 2012 she was a guest in the Tamil film ‘Thaandavam’. She was awarded a ‘Filmfare nomination.
