Archana is born on September 26, 1962, in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. She comes from a Hindu family. Her father is an attorney. She has a sister and two brothers. She attended school at Convent School, Dehradun. Archana graduated in English from Delhi University, New Delhi.
