Plot

In the neo-noir action thriller film “Corona Papers”, directed and produced by Priyadarshan, a rookie cop named Rahul finds himself in a precarious situation when he loses his service revolver. Initially believed to be a minor issue, it quickly becomes evident that the missing weapon is the focal point of the entire plot. It is intricately connected to a string of other significant events, including a bank robbery and a series of murders.

As the central piece of the script, the missing service revolver plays a crucial role in driving the narrative forward. Its absence creates a sense of urgency and intrigue, prompting Rahul and his team to launch a thorough investigation to uncover the truth behind its disappearance. With each new revelation, they gradually begin to unravel a complex web of interconnected crimes that all lead back to the missing revolver.

The film collected Rs 750,000 at the Kerala box office on its opening day.

Critical Response

The movie hit theaters on April 6th, 2023. Sajin Shrijith, a critic for Cinema Express, awarded the film a rating of 2.5 out of 5 stars and commented that “Despite Priyadarshan’s intriguing alterations to the original plot, the movie’s inability to make the audience emotionally invested, and its failure to provide a satisfyingly logical conclusion to all its threads, weigh heavily against it.

” Anjana George, a critic from The Times of India, also gave the film a 2.5 out of 5 stars and stated, “However, the lack of depth in the characters makes the movie fail to capture the audience’s attention.” S.R. Praveen, a critic from The Hindu, remarked that “Priyadarshan’s latest venture into the thriller genre is an average affair.”
