Personal Life

Born in Assam in an upper-middle-class family. Her father was a Bengali while her mother was an Assamese. She finished her education at her local school, and, for further studies, she relocated to Delhi and enrolled at Delhi’s National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi for a jewelry design course. Since her early years, she has had a keen interest in music and dance. She began to study classical music at six (years old).

Career

Before entering the TV Industry, Devoleena worked in Mumbai as a jewelry designer in the company Gill India Ltd. Being a certified Bharatnatyam dancer, she auditioned for Zee Television’s Dance Reality Show Dance India Dance 2 (2010).

She made her debut in the business with the role of Sawaare Sapne Preeto (2011-2012) as Gurbani Kaur Dhillon the fourth daughter from Gagan Deep as well as Kavaljeet. The year 2012 saw her being invited to play Gopi Ahem Modi on Star as well as Saath Nibhaana Saathiya. She took over the role of Giaa Manek and will continue to play the role for five years.
