Plot

Development
In May 2018, Lionsgate Films and Global Gate Entertainment, in partnership with Sunir Kheterpal’s Azure Entertainment, made an exciting announcement. They revealed plans to produce a remake of the critically acclaimed Korean film “The Terror Live” (2013), alongside several other international projects.
Filming
Principal photography began on 14 December 2020 in Mumbai. On 24 December 2020, it was announced that the makers wrapped the shooting of the film within 10 days.
Post-production
Following the completion of shooting, post-production work for the film commenced on December 31, 2020, just a week later. The makers wasted no time and initiated dubbing for the film in March 2021. Remarkably, the dubbing process was swiftly completed within the month of April.
Soundtrack
Renowned composer Vishal Khurana, known for his previous collaborations with director Ram Madhvani in films like “Neerja” (2016) and the streaming television series “Aarya” (2020), has taken charge of the soundtrack and score for the film.
Release
Initially planned for a theatrical release, the highly anticipated film “Dhamaka” underwent a change in its release strategy. Lead actor Aaryan introduced a new clause in his agreement with the producers in December 2020. As a result, the film’s fate took a digital turn. Confirming this shift, Netflix India released the first teaser of “Dhamaka” on March 2, 2021, officially announcing its digital release.

The film currently holds a 40% approval rating based on 10 reviews, with an average rating of 8.2/10. Shubhra Gupta from The Indian Express, on the other hand, gave the film a disappointing rating of 1 star out of 5.
