Dharmendra was born Dharam Singh Deol, on the 8th of December, 1935 (aged 88 as of 2023) in the village of Nasrali of the Khanna Tehsil in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. He spent his childhood in the village of Sahnewal. As a youngster, Dharmendra was very reluctant to attend school and was often a source of trouble for her mother in the mornings while she went to school.

His childhood was located in Sahnewal and he got his education from the ‘Government Secondary Secondary School situated in Layton Kalan. He finished his secondary education at ‘Ramgarhia College Phagwara in 1952.

Personal Life
Dharmendra got married to Parkash Kaur when he was at the age of 19 in 1954. The marriage resulted in four children including Sunny as well as Bobby who are both successful film actors. He was in love with Hema Malini, who was his co-star in numerous films and wished to get married.
As he was not ready to get divorced from his former wife, he remarried to Islam in 1979 and switched his name to Dilawar Khan. He then got married to Hema Malini in the year 1980. The couple has two daughters, Esha Deol as well as Ahana Deol.
Career
Young, strong, and attractive, Dharmendra developed an interest in show business. He received the magazine ‘Filmfare'”new talent” award. In the aftermath, he decided to pursue a career in acting and relocated to Mumbai to pursue more opportunities. He made his debut in Arjun Hingorani’s film ‘Dil Bhi Hum Bhi Tere’ in the year 1960. Later, other opportunities followed and he got romantic roles in a variety of films between the years 1960 between 1960 and 1967.
