Dinesh Karthik is an Indian wicketkeeper-batsman, who first made international appearances at a young age, after rising to the top of the U-19 team. While he’s been on the Indian team for different lengths of time over the past decade, he was unable to establish his spot in the team because of inconsistent performances in the international and domestic circuits.

He was originally a batsman and could have increased his chances by improving his wicket-keeping abilities, but was reduced to reserve due to the arrival of M.S. Dhoni. He’s had a much better T20 career. He purchased from Delhi Daredevils at a whooping Rs.12.5 crore during the seventh season of the IPL.

Dinesh Karthik was born on June 1, 1985, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu to Krishna Kumar, a first-division cricketer from Chennai along with his partner the Padma. His age is 38 years old. He has a younger brother called Vinesh.

Dinesh Karthik spent a few years of his youth living in Kuwait where his dad was employed as a teacher. He also attended Fahaheel Al-Watanieh Indian Private School which was part of Delhi Public School. At the age group of ten, He began an initial cricket lesson from his father who was forced to quit cricket to secure a steady job. He didn’t wish for his son to experience a similar fate.

Personal Life

Dinesh Karthik married his childhood friend Nikita Vanjara on May 02, 2007, in a quiet private wedding ceremony held in Mumbai. The marriage fell apart in 2012 due to Nikita’s relationship in relationship with Indian cricketer Murali Vijay.

International Career

Dinesh Karthik played his first ODI match during the NatWest series against England on September 5, 2004, and was later able to play in one game with Kenya at the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy. Karthik then made his debut as a Test player during the fourth Test match against Australia on November 3rd, 2004 in place of the injured Parthiv Patel. Then he played in the home series of two matches with South Africa, also in November 2004, but scored an average 46-run score at the end of the first Test.
