Under the ownership of Rajkumar Sethupathi, the rights to remake Jeethu Joseph’s acclaimed Malayalam film “Drishyam” (2013), featuring the talented trio of Mohanlal, Meena, and Asha Sarath, have been acquired. Taking heed of Kamal Haasan’s recommendation, Sethupathi has handpicked Daggubati Venkatesh to assume the lead role in the Telugu adaptation.
Soundtrack
Sharreth, a talented composer, contributed two songs to the film, with lyrics for both penned by Chandrabose. These songs were unveiled on 21 June 2014, through Lahari Music’s official YouTube channel. Sandhya Rao from Sify expressed in her review that the songs and background score harmonize perfectly with the film.
Release
Originally scheduled to release on or after 15 August 2014, in conjunction with India’s Independence Day, the film’s release plans were moved up to July 2014. This decision was made due to a lack of new releases during that month, presenting an advantageous opportunity to maximize its potential at the box office.
