Plot

The story unfolds with the protagonist in a comatose state, reliant on life support. The film cleverly presents two parallel narratives of the same individual, one depicted in vibrant colors and the other in classic black and white.

A determined detective from the Mumbai crime branch takes on the task of investigating the mysterious incident that led to the protagonist’s (Siddharth) current condition. During his investigation, the detective stumbles upon a collection of scribbled notes and an enigmatic pill among the protagonist’s belongings. Meanwhile, the police apprehend two suspects and subject them to intense interrogation in search of crucial information.

Production

In October 2013, producer C. V. Kumar acquired the Tamil remake rights of the Kannada film Lucia (2013) based on recommendations from his technical team. The original director, Pawan Kumar, announced that he would be involved in the pre-production process of the remake, assisting a new director in understanding the script.

After initial discussions with actor Bobby Simha, the team decided not to cast him in the lead role. In early December 2013, producer C. V. Kumar finalized Siddharth to play the lead role in the film. Prasad Ramar, a newcomer, and co-writer of the film Pizza, was chosen to direct the project. Principal photography for the film commenced on 10 February 2014. It was also announced that Kannada actress Deepa Sannidhi would portray the female lead in the film.

Soundtrack

The film’s soundtrack was composed by Santhosh Narayanan, who had previously worked on the background score of the original film Lucia. The soundtrack consists of five tracks, with lyrics penned by Muthamil, Ganesh Kumar, and Vivek. The album was officially launched on 8 September 2014, and the event was graced by the presence of actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Khushbu, and Vijay Sethupathi.
