Fakhar Zaman (born 10 April 1990) is a Pakistani cricketer and former Pakistan Navy soldier who is a member of the Pakistan national team in cricket and in the Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

On the 20th July of 2018, he became the very first batsman of Pakistan to make a double century during the course of a One Day International (ODI) match. The next day He became the fastest batsman to make 1000 runs during ODIs. In August of 2018, He was among 33 players who were given a central contract to play during the season 2018-19, by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Family

He comes from a Pashtun family. Fakhar Zaman was born into an upper-middle-class family. He had an intense desire to play cricket from an early age. He began playing cricket at a lower level and later, he was selected to represent Pakistan internationally.

Fakhar Zaman has a wife lady known as Saniya Ashfaq. The couple married in the year 2018. Saniya Ashfaq is not a public figure and only a small amount of information is available about her.

Early Life

Zaman was born on April 10, 1990, in Katlang located in Katlang in the Mardan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Zaman moved to Karachi at the age of 16 after matriculation. In 2007 Zaman was drafted into his first stint in the Pakistan Navy as a sailor after completing his education and maritime training at Bahadur, the Pakistan Navy School, Bahadur.

The decision to join the Navy was supported by his father who was dissuaded by the passion for cricket that Fakhar had as a child and was keen for his son to focus on his studies. Fakhar is a name that Fakhar literally means “pride”.Amongst his colleagues, Fakhar is known by the name”fuji” (soldier).

Education

Fakhar was born on the 10th of April 1990, in Mardan, North-West Frontier Province. Fakhar completed his studies at the Pakistan Navy School. He relocated to Karachi after completing his studies at age 16. Fakhar became a part of in the Pakistan Navy in 2007 as a mariner following his education and ocean-related training at the Pakistan Navy School in Bahadur.

International Career

International Debut

He was included in Pakistan’s limited-overs team for their matches against West Indies. The player made the Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for Pakistan against the West Indies on 30 March 2017.

In April of 2017, He was selected as Pakistan’s One Day International (ODI) team of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy. He made his debut as an ODI player with Pakistan with a win against South Africa in the Champions Trophy on June 7, 2017and scored 31 runs.
