Reception

Gopinath Rajendran, a critic from The Hindu, expressed that while “Farhana” is a fundamentally simple and straightforward story, it attains a higher level of recognition due to its treatment and the performances delivered by its carefully chosen cast.

Loges Balachandran, a critic from The Times of India, awarded the film 3 out of 5 stars and mentioned that although “Farhana” occasionally faces pacing issues, it ultimately excels by showcasing its strengths.

Kalyani Pandiyan S, a critic from Hindustan Times, commented on the film’s portrayal of the challenges faced by an Islamic family, noting the credibility of the scenes and the perfect complement provided by Justin’s music.

However, the critic felt that the climax, where Farhana finally meets someone, left the film with an unfinished quality. It was suggested that “Farhana” could have achieved greater success if the pacing had been handled more effectively.
