Plot

Dr. Freddy Ginwala, a shy and socially awkward dentist based in Mumbai, navigates a series of unsuccessful dates that always end in rejection. His sole companion is his pet turtle, Hardy, and he finds solace in his hobby of constructing miniature planes. Tragically, Freddy’s childhood was marred by the devastating loss of his mother at the hands of his father, who subsequently took his own life.

During a relative’s wedding, Freddy catches sight of a woman named Kainaaz and musters the courage to approach her, but his advances are thwarted by her husband Rustom, who happens to be managing the catering for the event. Surprisingly, Kainaaz visits Freddy’s clinic the following day, expressing her need for a wisdom tooth extraction. Freddy, agreeing to perform the surgery, carries out the procedure on the subsequent day.

Production

In July 2021, the casting for Ekta Kapoor and Jay Shewakramani’s upcoming project was finalized, with Kartik Aaryan confirmed to play the lead role. Aaryan underwent a physical transformation, gaining 14 kilograms, to portray the character of a dentist. Joining the cast as the female lead opposite Aaryan is Alaya F, known for her previous role in the film “Jawaani Jaaneman” (2020). This film marks her second venture in the industry.

Music

The film’s music is composed by Pritam, a renowned musician, while the background score is crafted by Clinton Cerejo. The soundtrack features a diverse range of songs. The first single, “Kaala Jaadu,” was unveiled on 11 November 2022, introducing audiences to the film’s musical world.
