Gursharanjot Singh Randhawa, popularly known as Guru Randhawa, was born on August 30, 1991, in Noorpur, Dera Baba Nanak tehsil, located in the Gurdaspur district. Initially, he started performing at small shows in Gurdaspur and later began performing at private events and gatherings in Delhi.
During his stay in Delhi, he completed his MBA. It was the rapper Bohemia who nicknamed him “Guru” and used it while performing on stage.
Family
He hails from a Jatt Sikh family settled in Gurdaspur, Punjab, with his ancestral roots tracing back to Rurka Kalan, Punjab, India. Limited information is available regarding his parents. However, he credits his elder brother, Ramneek Randhawa, as the most significant influence behind his success.

Education, Qualification
After completing his schooling at St. Francis Convent School in Gurdaspur, He relocated to Delhi to pursue his career. He pursued higher education and obtained an MBA degree from the Indian Institute of Planning and Management in New Delhi.
Personal Life
He believes that the music world extends beyond the confines of his house’s gate. Despite his success, he remains humble and lives with his parents. While he has been in relationships with several women, as of now, he has no plans of settling down.

Career
In 2012, he began his career as a singer and songwriter with the release of his debut song “Same Girl.” He gained popularity with his next track “Chhad Gayi,” which was well-received by the audience. Guru has since delivered numerous hit Punjabi tracks, including “Patola,” “Fashion,” “High Rated Gabru,” “Yaar Mod Do,” and “Suit.” His debut album was titled “Page One.”
In 2017, he made his Bollywood debut with the song “Suit Suit” in the Irrfan Khan starrer film “Hindi Medium.” The song was a remake of his original Punjabi song “Suit.” That same year, Guru also appeared on the “T-Series Mix Tape” with singer Kanika Kapoor, where they recorded a mashup of the songs “Ambarsariya” and “Suit” together.
