Early Life
Chan Kong-sang was born in Hong Kong, China, on April 7, 1954. Chan, aged 7, was sent to Hong Kong’s Chinese Opera Research Institute to study after his parents moved to Australia for new jobs. The next ten years were a blur.
Education
In 1996, Chan received an honorary doctorate from Hong Kong Baptist University and in 2008, a Savannah College of Art and Design honorary professorship. Chan was also awarded honorary doctorates by the University of Cambodia, the American University of Hong Kong, and others.
Personal Life
Chan married Lin Feng-jiao (also known as Joan Lin) in 1982. Jaycee Chan, a singer-actor, was also born to Chan and Lin Feng-jiao. Chan is a Buddhist follower. Chan can speak several languages, including Mandarin, English, and German as well as Korean, Japanese, Spanish, Thai, and Korean.
Career
Jackie Chan was offered a job as a stuntman by Willie Chan, a Hong Kong film producer. Chan was the lead in the film, called “New Fist of Fury”. It didn’t do well because Chan couldn’t display Bruce Lee’s style of martial arts, and the entire movie was supposed to be modeled after him.
Chan was a part of the 1978 film ‘Snake in the Eagle’s Shadow’, which was a huge success in Chan’s film career. Chan was free to do whatever stunts he wanted. This film helped to establish comedy kung fu, which was very popular among the Hong Kong crowd.

For his role as a cop in the film ‘Police Story Super Cop’, he was awarded the Best Actor Award at the 1993 Golden Horse Film Festival. For the film ‘New Police Story’, he won the Best Actor Award at the 2005 Golden Rooster Awards.
