Dalton showcased his prowess in gymnastics by clinching the U.S. National vault championship titles in 2009 and 2011, alongside the floor championship in 2011. Additionally, he secured the All-Around Gold medal at the Winter Cup Challenge in 2011. As a member of the USA team, he contributed to the bronze medal victory at the 2011 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Tokyo, Japan.

In February 2013, Dalton’s stellar performance continued at the Winter Cup, where he claimed gold in floor, rings, and all-around events. Subsequently, he won the bronze medal at the P&G National Championships in August 2013, earning a spot on the World Championships team. At the 2013 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, he captured a silver medal in floor exercise, second only to Japan’s Kenzo Shirai.

In recognition of his achievements, a new element on the parallel bars was named after Dalton in the Men’s Gymnastics Code of Points in 2016.
