Jeon Jung-kook was born in Busan, South Korea on September 1, 1997, and grew up in a family with his parents and an older brother. He attended Baekyang Elementary and Middle School in Busan before transferring to Singu Middle School in Seoul where he became a trainee.

Initially, Jungkook aspired to become a badminton player, but after watching G-Dragon’s electrifying performance of “Heartbreaker” on TV, he was inspired to pursue a career in singing.
