Early Life and Education

Kalyani was born on April 5, 1993, in Chennai in a Malayali family. She is the daughter of Indian filmmaker Priyadarshan and actress Lissy. She is the older of the two children and also has an older brother. Her early education was within Lady Andal, Chennai, and then went on to study in Singapore and Singapore, where she was also a part of the theatre group.

After finishing her education and obtaining a bachelor’s diploma in architectural design at the Parsons School of Design, New York City. Early work and debut (2013-2020)

Kalyani began her career in film beginning in 2013, working as an assistant producer working under Sabu Cyril’s Hindi film Krrish 3 (2013). In 2016, she served as an assistant art director for the Tamil film Iru Mugan (2016). The subsequent year the actress made her debut in her debut in the Telugu movie Hello (2017) with Akhil Akkineni.

Career progression (2021-present)

Then, in 2021 she was a part of the Tamil-language science fiction film Maanaadu with actor Silambarasan. Her next film during the year was the Malayalam movie Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham. It received mixed negative reviews and was not successful at the box office. She also was in Hridayam in a role opposite Pranav Mohanlal.
