Khesari Lal Yadav was born on March 15th, 1986 to a poor family from Dhana Dish village, Saran district in Bihar. He was the son of Mangaru Lal Yadav used by a security guard in the evening and sold Chana in the street as a vendor in the early morning.

He also appeared on The Big Boss 13 seasons as a contestant in 2019. Khesari has seven kids; three of them are biological brothers, and four are the children of the uncle he inherited. He was a resident of Chhapra with his uncle and mother. When he was a child, Khesari used to graze cattle and then sell their milk.

His acting debut was as a young country boy on Sajan Chale Sasural, a Bhojpuri movie Sajan Chale Sasural in 2012. From 2012 until the year 2016, he acted in 42 Bhojpuri films.
The year was 2016, and he had his Bollywood debut in the movie Global Baba, where he appeared alongside Sandeepa Dhar and Pankaj Tripathi in the song Holi Me Ude. In the following years, he appeared in popular films, including Mai Sehra Bandh Aaunga (2017), Muqaddar(2017), Damru (2018), and Dulhan Ganga A Paar Ke(2018). In 2019, he was a contestant on the reality show Big Boss Season 13.
