Early Life

He was born on 26 September 1932 in Gah (Punjab) in what is now the Pakistani province. He was born to the Sikh family of Gurmukh Singh, and Amrit Kaur. Because his mother passed away at a young stage of life, Manmohan was brought up by his maternal grandmother. In his childhood, Manmohan was keen on academics and often topped his class as well.

Career
