Jasmine Mary Joseph (popularly known as Meera Jasmine) is an Indian film actress, who is known for her performances as a character in Paadam Onnu: Oru Vilapam and Ore Kadal. She was also awarded the National Film Award for Best Actress in 2004 for her role in the character Paadam Onnu Oru Vilapam.

She was awarded the Kerala State Film Award, Kalaimamani Award, and Tamil Nadu State Film Award. Meera has worked on over 50 films, mostly in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada languages.

Birth & Early Life

Meera Jasmine was born on February 15th, 1982 in the Kuttapuzha village in Thiruvalla, Kerala. Her parents of her were Joseph Philip and Aleyamma Joseph. She has four siblings. Their sister Jiby Sara Joseph, and Jeny Susan Joseph perform as actresses.

One of them George is a cinematographer assistant. Meera has a husband, a Dubai engineer from Dubai Anil John Titus. educated at Bala Vihar, Thiruvalla, and Marthoma Residential School in Thiruvalla. She completed her Zoology studies at Assumption College, Changanassery.

Career

Meera Jasmine began her acting career by appearing in the Malayalam film Soothradharan in 2001. The actress landed the role as she was in college after director A.K. Lohitdas noticed her. Despite being initially uninterested in appearing in an upcoming film Meera accepted the part. The film co-starred Dileep did poorly in the theater.

Following her disastrous debut, Introduced to the Tamil film industry in 2002. She was in two films, Run as well as Bala. While Run produced by N. Linguswamy and co-starring R. Madhavan was a huge success in the theaters, Bala Bala received mixed reviews and was an average grosser.
