Missing English Movie 2023 Cast, Plot, Production, & Release
Missing serves as a standalone sequel to the 2018 film Searching. The movie features a talented cast including Storm Reid, Joaquim de Almeida, Ken Leung, Amy Landecker, Daniel Henney, and Nia Long. The gripping storyline revolves around June Allen, a teenager who embarks on a mission to locate her mother after she mysteriously vanishes while on vacation in Colombia with her new partner.
In 2019, plans for an anthology sequel to Searching were announced, and in January 2021, Will Merrick and Nick Johnson, who had previously edited the original film, were confirmed to make their directorial debuts for this installment.
Plot
In a poignant archive video, a young June Allen shares a precious moment with her late father, James, who tragically passed away from a brain tumor not long after the recording. Fast forward to the present, June’s mother, Grace, embarks on a week-long excursion to Cartagena, Colombia, accompanied by her boyfriend, Kevin. During Grace’s absence, June is left under the care of Heather, a divorce lawyer and close friend of Grace.
However, when the expected day arrives for June to pick up her mother and Kevin from Los Angeles International Airport, they are nowhere to be found. Frustrated by the lack of progress made by the FBI officials attached to the consulate, June takes matters into her own hands. Armed with an array of digital tools at her disposal, she delves into her own investigation.
