Early Life
He was born to a Pashtun family from North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which is where he started to play cricket with tape. Because of the absence of facilities, he had to relocate to the capital city of the province of Peshawar where there was a cricket club after which he played at the district level, later at the regional level, eventually playing for Pakistan’s Pakistan U19 squad.

Wasim was in Pakistan’s team to participate in his country’s participation in the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his debut in the first class on November 26, 2020, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in the 2020-21 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
In the month of January 2021, Wasim was selected in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa squad to play in the 2020-21 Pakistan Cup. It was the List A debut on 18 January 2021 for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in the 2020-21 Pakistan Cup. The player made his Twenty20 debut on the 21st of February 2021 with Islamabad United in the 2021 Pakistan Super League.

He began his career in the domestic arena by playing for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa team in 2020. He was then selected to the Islamabad United team and played for them during the PSL 2021 as well as the PSL 2022 season.
International Career
Mohammad Wasim was selected for the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup 2020. In the month of March 2021, Wasim was picked for the Pakistan team for the match with South Africa and Zimbabwe.
